This large venue provides indoor track & athletic fields and aquatic, gymnastic & learning centers. Children can run, jump, and swing to their hearts’ content! In addition, “gymnastics workshops” allow children access to equipment typically reserved for budding gymnasts.
Indoor Track & Athletic Fields
Delaware provides young athletes a safe way to practice indoor track and field events during winter months as part of USA Track and Field’s youth program, giving them an enjoyable way to stay active.
COVID-19 travel restrictions have prevented high school teams from traveling out-of-state to meet this season, yet organizers of an ambitious plan to build a multi-use arena in Delaware believe the state can benefit from having one that hosts not only track and field competitions but also wrestling, basketball, and competitive cheerleading competitions.
State colleges have become staples on Delaware high school track and field teams’ winter tour of colleges in Delaware. Unfortunately, their facilities can only accommodate relatively small crowds: Lehigh’s Rauch Fieldhouse, Penn State Ashenfelt Indoor Track, and Ursinus’ Floy Lewis Bakes Center Field House each have seating capacity for roughly 800 spectators.
Indoor Track Delaware organizers envision an arena featuring a 200-meter hydraulically banked track and seating for 3,500 spectators, with viewing opportunities available on the main floor and an upstairs viewing area. A separate check-in area for running and throwing events with implements available at the facility would also be planned; although open to the public, organizers suggest an admission price of $10 per person as an effective cost control mechanism.
Gymnastics
Gymnastics classes are available year-round at Parks Direct for age-based classes, skill-level competition events, and registration information through PARKS DIRECT.
Sportsplex’s gymnastics program has produced many state and regional champions, such as Khoi Young, who earned his spot on the U.S. mens team for the 2018 National Championships! Through USA Gymnastics competitive training for both boys and girls, there is the potential for elite-level competition. Our USA Gymnastics competitive training provides opportunities for elite-level competition. Our USA Gymnastics competitive program offers both boys and girls training for competitive gymnastics at both beginner and elite levels – and provides access to national-level competition!

My children adore open gym, while I appreciate having access to a snack bar and cafe so parents can relax while their children play! Plus it is located only two minutes from Wegmans, making grocery shopping more accessible!
