Family Owned and Operated since 1882

Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home of Boerne, Texas, has been family-owned and operated since 1882 – one of the oldest businesses in its region. Committed to providing high-quality service and care during grief for families in Boerne and beyond, their funeral home offers cremation, casket burial, memorialization, prearrangement counseling, and funeral planning services.

Carl Oscar (C.O) Ebensberger was an immigrant from Prussia who built an Art Deco building that soon became fashionable. On its ground floor was where Carl conducted his undertaking business while his family resided above. Carl worked as a cabinet maker by trade; cabinet makers often served as undertakers at that time as they were best equipped to produce wooden coffins.

Dustin “Dusty” Fisher and Jo Lynn Fisher acquired Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home from Sonny and Yvonne Ebensberger in 2008. Since then, they have operated it as a family business, treating all customers like family.

The Fishers are highly involved with the Boerne Chamber of Commerce, serving on its Leadership Council and Scholarship Committee. Additionally, they sit on the United Way of Kendall County Board of Directors, where they graduated as members of their 2010 Leadership Class. In addition, they lead grief support groups at their funeral home and host an annual Remembrance Service honoring those who have passed.

Funeral home has been an integral part of their community for over 100 years, and they are committed to keeping that status quo. Their funeral home is owned and run by actual family ownership; each family they treat like they would treat their own. Losing loved ones is always a devastating experience; that’s why they offer comforting support during this difficult time of mourning. With such a rich legacy within this city’s borders, they also look forward to serving future generations.

Family Values

In the mid-1800s, funeral care for the dead was handled exclusively by families within their households. With embalming technology becoming available, loved ones could now be returned hundreds of miles away to their family members for burial services in private parlors. Over time, mortuaries began emerging to meet this growing public demand.

Jo Lynn joined Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Homes as a manager in 2022, eventually rising to become its President and overseeing the daily operations of this family-run business. Additionally, she organizes the Holiday Remembrance Service each year and sits on the Chamber Leadership Council and Scholarship Committee before acting as chair for annual Gala Awards events.
