Though a financial authority has blacklisted a broker, this does not indicate any fraud or scamming activity on their part. The exact reason may remain unknown but could stem from consumer complaints or suspicions.
Founded in 2014
The firm stands accused of fraud and securities law violations, among other offenses. Allegedly using false statements to induce investors and win business for itself fraudulently; misrepresenting financial performance and assets; misappropriating funds from investors; Sheng-Wen Cheng is the co-founder and controlling person for this firm, while Jahril Tafari Bell hails from the District of Columbia.
The complaint alleges that Cheng and Bell made false representations during an initial coin offering (ICO). According to this claim, they lied about how much Alchemy had raised and the number of current and prospective customers they had attracted; additionally, they claimed the tokens being sold would increase in value and liquidity over time without informing investors or the SEC of this possibility.
Defendants also violated federal securities laws by failing to file the necessary paperwork with the SEC, falsifying documents used during Alchemy’s offering – such as its Token Purchase Agreement and Business Summary, without notifying their investors of this inaccuracy and trusting these documents when investing in Alchemy. Plaintiffs relied upon them without realizing this inaccurate information was contained there.
The lawsuit alleges that the defendants commingled funds and ignored corporate formalities. Furthermore, it accuses them of trying to conceal their involvement with fraudulent activities through shell companies and aliases; moreover, it seeks restitution and damages of over $250,000.
Headquartered in Hong Kong
Alchemy Trading, based out of Hong Kong, specializes in importing chemicals into the US from China. Their primary objective is to offer more efficient and transparent means of procuring chemical materials from this source by providing market intelligence and connecting directly with Chinese suppliers. Furthermore, Alchemy offers various services, including sourcing, quoting, and shipping; they have offices in Shanghai and Twinsburg, Ohio.
Hong Kong Exchange (HKEX) is an international bourse that has quickly become the go-to place for companies seeking initial public offerings (IPOs). Furthermore, HKEX is a premier venue for mainland Chinese issuers to list outside their home markets. Unfortunately, though successful at raising capital through initial public offerings (IPOs), its success in commodities trading hasn’t translated over, perhaps due to competing interests of geopolitical stakeholders hindering approval processes for trading opportunities.
Trading costs on LME are more costly than those on Shanghai Futures Exchange because commodities are closely tied to political and economic conditions in their importing countries, leading to unpredictable market movements that make diversifying business away from equities more challenging for HKEX.
Alchemy Pay recently made headlines at the Hong Kong Web3 Festival by serving as one of the premier fiat-crypto on and off-ramp payment gateways. Not only was Alchemy Pay one of its sponsors for the event, but they also participated in panel discussions addressing regulatory frameworks within the cryptocurrency industry as well as co-hosted an afterparty hosted by Animoca Brands and Bing Ventures at R3al World: Infra.
ZD Group, the parent of Mouette Securities, and Alchemy Pay have joined forces to form closer business ties between their entities. Under this partnership, ZD Group will share its Hong Kong Type 1, 4, and 9 financial services licenses – necessary for conducting financial investment businesses in Hong Kong.
Sunbright Wealth Management has granted Alchemy Pay access to its insurance broker company license, enabling it to explore potential business through contract negotiations or arrangements of insurance policies in Asian markets. Through this partnership, Alchemy Pay will expand its user base.

Before making their decisions, traders are advised to thoroughly read through and understand all terms and conditions related to any product or service before making a decision. It is also advisable for traders to check whether their broker has FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) approval as this can protect investors if there is ever an issue; customers who experience difficulties can file complaints with either FOS or FSCS, which both provide compensation in case their broker goes out of business.
